At the end of March we had a great weekend at Crabwall Manor Hotel, Chester, to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Thanks to daughter, Amy, and son, Matthew, and their families for making it such a lovely weekend.
Looking forward to setting off to Canada on Wednesday for our Great Rail Tour of Canada and Alaska.
My last post featured my beautiful grandson on the day of his birth.
Here he is now
He is nearly 2!
I’m afraid I have neglected my blog over the last couple of years, partly due to Covid and lack of travel opportunities, but also due to me being very poorly and in hospital for 3 months last year.
I’m back now and we’re off on a river cruise along the Danube tomorrow so I may have some photos to share with you all.
This is the most exciting post I have written. Daughter, Amy, gave birth to our first grandbaby at 04.23am on 28th August. Due on 8th September, Jaxon Andrew Rogers was obviously in a hurry to meet his family. He weighed in at a healthy 8lbs.

Mum, Dad, and baby are all doing well. What a lovely little family.
When I started this blog earlier this year my main aim was to share photographs of our travels. It was also a way of reaching a wider audience with my writing. If you enjoy reading my stories I have just added a new short story to the ‘My Creations’ page.
Recently, however, my blog has allowed a distant relative I didn’t know I had, to reach out to me. My second cousin, Elizabeth, has been researching our family history and knew enough to google my name and the town where I live, and found my blog!
We have started to exchange photographs and information about our families. My grandmother on my father’s side was Elizabeth’s grandmother’s sister.

What amazing photographs! I look forward to finding out more about our shared family.
Well, it’s Andy’s birthday today. A very different day to his birthday last year!
