We travelled by air conditioned coach into the Austrian Lakes as our ship travelled further along the Danube to Linz.
We visited the church that had been used in The Sound of Music, in Mondsee. Then travelled to Hallstadt. The scenery was amazing. It was 32° when we ventured out of our comfortable coach. We needed another beer!

The other excursion went to Salzburg and the coach was held up due to the collapse of a bridge on the autobahn. They had enough time to watch the whole of that film!

I also went there in 1993 as part of the sound of music tour from Salzburg. I loved it!
