We visited China, along with a group of about 30 people, with Great Rail Journeys. The holiday was extremely well organised. We met our guide, Mary, at Heathrow and she stayed with us for the entire holiday. We picked up a local guide at each stopover point. All the guides were friendly and informative. We travelled by coach locally and by First Class train in between cities.
Highlights were many, but I particularly enjoyed visiting the panda sanctuary and the three day cruise on the Yangtze River. The holiday began in Beijing and ended in Shanghai but we added on a three day visit to Hong Kong which we enjoyed very much, particularly our visit to Lantau Island.
